Hello, and welcome! I’m very glad to meet you.

My name is Jessie Clemence, and I’m a writer. I’m also a wife, mother, and Christian. I have stacks of books all over my house, I drive a respectable minivan, and sometimes I yell things from the back row when the preacher hits a nerve. You’ll hear a lot about the family, the books, and probably the van if you stick around this site for long.

I’ve been married to Eric for eighteen years, and we have two middle schoolers. We live in southwest Michigan: beautiful, fabulous, and sometimes really, really snowy.

I Write to Help You Find More Joy and Contentment:

I spend a lot of time thinking about joy and contentment, and how we can find those things within the reality of the lives we lead. Jesus came to bring us full and abundant life, but in this messed up, broken down, dangerous world it can be hard to believe.

And yet, I believe Jesus’s words still stand true. A lot of what you’ll read on this blog is my effort to reconcile the truth of Scripture with the reality of my own life, and I hope you’ll recognize the struggle and benefit from what God’s teaching me.

The rest of what I write is just pure nonsense, because the internet is full of enough angst and dumbness and I think it’s high time we all just chill out a little, yes?

I’m glad you’ve joined us. Let’s find a way to build a content, joyful life. We don’t have to do what the rest of the world is doing, but we don’t have to live in dissatisfaction, either. We can build the very best life possible out of the resources we already have.

I like the reason – writing will save you from mumbling to yourself. Great reason & funny.

I’m looking forward to reading your blog. The world needs to see more people with faith living “real” lives. And, if you don’t mind, thank you for the idea to interview myself. I am always looking for ways to incorporate my split personality 😉

    God bless!

Jessie, I was recently asked to do a blog tour. I know you have a book coming out soon, so I thought of you and wanted to include you in my post for tomorrow. The idea is to give some free publicity to other writers you know. The questions are posted below if you have time to contribute. Good luck on the release soon!

What is your working title of your book (or story)?
Where did the idea come from for the book?
What genre does your book fall under?
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Who or what inspired you to write this book?
What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

Good morning from the frozen land of MN … school was actually cancelled today due to – 40 wind chills outside. So I’m getting a nice lazy cozy morning to catch up on emails and browse the Internet while I let my children play way too much Xbox. Anyway, I was searching for graphics and Bible verses and prayers to send to a friend who’s struggling and hurting abs that’s how I stumbled upon your blog today. Specifically the image/prayer from your Jan. 2 2014 post … just wanted to say thanks! I have not blogged in a long time … doubt I will ever have time again, but I’m enjoying reading thru your posts … your words are blessing me and I plan to send a link on to my friend.

    Love & Blessings~

Thank you, Heather! You are so kind and I really appreciate you sending the link on to your friend.

We have a lot of family in Minnesota, near Minneapolis. They are always slightly more frozen than we are here in Michigan. 🙂
